The Maltese Falcon is kind of a proto-noir - it’s got a lot of the elements of a full blown film noir, but it’s not quite there. It was directed by John Huston, and is one of my all time favs. Bogart is awesome as usual.

I’m happy that this movie is actually good. Still a little nervous about The Hulk though. Am I the only person that liked the Ang Lee film?

Today’s retro poster of the day comes from Carol Reed’s timeless film noir classic: TheThird Man - starring Joseph Cotten and the late, great Orsen Welles. This is one of my all time favorite films, and is certainly one of the greatest film noir ever created.

Boy, Daniel Craig and Nicole Kidman seem to be doing a lot of work together these days. Here’s a swack of posters for their upcoming film Golden Compass, which also reunited Craig with his Casino Royale co-star, Eva Green.

From impawards.com is a round-up of the movie posters from Live Free or Die Hard - including a bunch of the international posters. I saw this the other night, and was pleasantly surprised. I had everything I could want from a Die Hard movie: great action, wisecracking John McClane, yippee-ki-yay mother… etc. Even the guy from the Mac commercials was cool.

Courtesy of AICN are these two new posters for Michael Bay’s upcoming Transformers movie. I dunno, the first one looks vaguely like Optimus Prime.. but the second one looks nothing like Megatron. It’s fair enough I guess.. maybe a giant robot that transformed into a tiny gun wouldn’t really work on the big screen.
